the other NY

"Oh, you're from New York. Awesome! Which borough? "

"Not the city; The other NY."

You know the routine. You've had this exact conversation plenty of times. You've seen the utter confusion in the other person's eyes as you gush over the beautiful disaster that is Buffalo. Passion, pride, and love for this city will always make you defend its honor.

Our names are Greg and Melissa. Adventure, curiosity, and opportunity led us around the country for the last 10+ years. We've lived in some of "The Country's Most Desirable Places To Live" as seen in all of the silly click-bait articles on the web and visited damn near every other city. We've fallen in love with a lot of these places, but there was always something missing... and we noticed one major constant- barely anybody in these trending cities are actually from there- and the people that are have been priced out, forced to move, and have a passive resentment towards the place they call "Home".

No matter where you are in the U.S., if you meet someone who calls Buffalo, "Home",  you'll know it. They may complain about the brutal winters, but they'll admit that there's a force in the city that you crave when visiting anywhere else. It's hard to explain until you find yourself chasing that feeling yourself; but in our eyes, it correlates directly with the quality of life offered in Leftern New York.

Quality of life is a very relative term. Everyone has a different definition for it. The people that turn their nose up at the thought of Western New York have every right to do so. Everyone is looking for something different.

Us? Seeing what we've seen? Living how we've lived? Going through what we've been through?

It is a dream come true to live in this absolutely beautiful, historic city aptly donned "The City of Good Neighbors". In a perfect world, we will grow old here. If you're from here, be sure to take time to explore the rest of the world. We'll hold down the city while you adventure with every chance you get. We sincerely hope there's nothing stopping you.

We'll be here when you get back.
